How to create Messages
The Messages section of the Marquee allows you to share important notes, reflections, and welcome messages with your audience—such as a Director’s Note, Dramaturgical Insight, or a Message from the Theatre. This guide walks you through how to add and format messages in Step 5 of the Marquee Builder.
Step 1: Accessing the Messages Section
In the Marquee Builder, go to Step 5: Messages. This is where you’ll enter and customize any written notes that appear within your digital playbill.
Step 2: Adding a Message
Message Title
Start by entering a Message Title. This title should reflect the nature of the message—for example:
- “A Note from the Director”
- “Dramaturg’s Insight”
- “Welcome from the Theatre”
This helps contextualize the message for readers.
Message Body
Enter the main content of your message into the text box provided.
- Use the formatting tools (bold, italic, alignment, etc.) to style your text for clarity and visual appeal.
Step 3: Adding an Image (Optional)
You can enhance your message by including an image:
- Click the Image icon in the toolbar.
- Click the Upload button to select a file (JPG, PNG, or WEBP).
- Once added to the message body, you can resize and reposition the image to fit your layout.
Step 4: Adding Additional Messages (Optional)
If you’d like to include more than one message:
- Click the “Additional Messaging” button.
- This will reveal two additional message inputs, each with its own title and message field.
Step 5: Submitting and Editing
Once your messages are complete, click Submit to save them to your Marquee.
To make future edits:
- Go to the Components panel in the Marquee Database, where you can update or revise your submitted messages.
