Starting a New Marquee
The Marquee is the foundation of your digital program, where you set essential details such as the event title, key art, and production information. This guide will walk you through the process of creating a new Marquee in the Marquee Builder.
Step 1: Accessing the New Marquee Form
To begin, navigate to Step 1 in the Marquee Builder. Here, you will see a placeholder waiting for your event's title, key art, and details.
Click the New Marquee button to open the setup form.
Step 2: Entering Event Information
Contact Email
The form will display a Contact Email, which will already be set. You can move on to the next section.
Event Info
- Event Name – Enter the official title of your production. (e.g., Romeo & Juliet).
- Opening and Closing Dates – These should match the first and last performances where an audience will access this Marquee.
Setting & Additional Information
- Setting – Enter the location where the story takes place (e.g., Verona, Italy). If your production has no specific setting, leave this blank, and it will not appear in the Marquee.
- Additional Information – This is where you can provide details such as:
- Intermission duration
- Content warnings
- Atmospheric effects (e.g., strobe lights, fog)
Marquee Library Tags
Your Marquee will be featured in our library of digital programs, making it searchable for users.
- Select tags that best describe your production.
- If a relevant tag is missing, choose Other to add a custom tag.
Union Strong (Optional)
If your event falls under a union jurisdiction and requires union acknowledgments, you can select them here to ensure proper visibility in the Marquee.
Step 3: Uploading Event Key Art
You will need to submit three graphics to complete your Marquee’s visual presentation:
- Event Poster
- This is the primary image that appears when the Marquee loads.
- Templates available: Downloadable Photoshop (PSD) and Canva templates ensure the correct dimensions.
Crop tool: After uploading, a cropping tool will appear to help adjust the size.
Menu Icon
- A circular image displayed in the Marquee menu.
- Templates available to guide you on the correct size.
A crop tool will activate upon upload.
Logo
- Appears at the top of the Marquee, above the Title Billing section.
- This can be a text-based title, a graphic, or a combination of both.
Step 4: Finalizing and Editing Your Marquee
Once you have added all required information and graphics, click Submit to save your Marquee.
- Upon returning to the Marquee Builder, you will see the Title and Key Art reflected in the preview mock-up.
- The New Marquee button will now change to Update Marquee. If you need to edit any details or replace key art, simply click the Update Marquee button to make changes.
Your New Marquee is now created and ready to be built upon! 🎭
